It is our pleasure to announce that the Youth Forum of the European Movement in Serbia will host young people from across Europe next year at the Federal Committee of the Young European Federalists. At the Federal Committee of the Young European Federalists in Sofia, Belgrade was chosen as the host of the next Federal Committee, surpassing Athens in the vote with 23 votes for Belgrade and 22 for Athens. This will be the first time that the Young European Federalists hold a statutory event in Serbia and the first time in seven years that such an event will take place in the Western Balkans and outside the European Union.
The fact that this is happening now carries a strong message to young people in Serbia and the entire region—a message of solidarity in the fight for justice and the rule of law, values at the core of the European project. At a time when young people often feel left to face challenges that transcend national borders—ranging from the fight against corruption and economic uncertainty to climate change—this event serves as a confirmation that they are not alone.
Each such gathering is an opportunity for young people from different parts of the continent to exchange experiences, strengthen mutual connections, and work together on policies shaping their future. Through open discussions and joint projects, young people demonstrate that Europe is not just a geographical space but an idea founded on solidarity and understanding.
It is crucial to highlight that their peers from across Europe have recognised that young people in Serbia are an integral part of change. The Federal Committee in Belgrade will be a symbol of solidarity, perseverance, and the belief that change comes from the bottom up—from young people who do not recognise borders when it comes to key issues of justice and democracy. This event is not just a formal meeting but an opportunity to open a new chapter in regional and European youth cooperation—a chance to build a future together, where solidarity and unity are the fundamental pillars of society.
